Location and Information about Barefoot Beach
Barefoot Beach is a picturesque waterfront community at the end of Bonita Beach Road in Bonita Springs. It is 15-miles North of Naples, and 25-miles South of Fort Myers. Although technically part of Bonita Springs, Barefoot Beach has its own County Park and community of single-family homes, condominiums and villas. These homes are nestled between little Hickory Bay, Fish Trap Bay and the Gulf of Mexico and offer spectacular views of the water.
The homes, priced from $500,000 to $10 million, are perfect for the boating enthusiast and those who enjoy a laid back waterfront lifestyle.
Barefoot Beach has been described as the American Riviera, a perfect location for walking, fishing, swimming and boating. With dozens of nearby private and public golf courses, shops, waterfront restaurants and other recreational activities, there’s never a lack of fun things to do and see at Barefoot Beach.
But the centerpiece is the Barefoot Beach County Park. The Barefoot Beach Preserve and Park is over 340-acres of natural land, sugary sandy beaches and undeveloped barrier islands on Florida’s Southwest coast.
You can find the County Park where Bonita Beach Road and Hickory Boulevard meet. It’s also South of Doc’s Beach House restaurant, a local landmark and icon in Southwest Florida.
The County Park is popular for its lush surroundings, fantastic fishing options and relaxing nature preserves.
In fact, the Travel Channel has named it one of their top 10 beaches in the U.S.
Park Rangers offer lectures and interpretive programs to the public and you can often see local schools enjoying educational field trips and fun in the sun. The park also has a one-mile nature trail, showers, picnic areas and concession stands during peak times in the summer. There’s also a handicap beach with wheelchair access.
The Club at Barefoot Beach
The club at Barefoot Beach is one of Hickory Islands’ hidden gems. This luxury beach club offers a full social calendar, fine dining, swimming and beach access. There’s two dining options: the Shell Dining Room and the Turtle’s Nest Café. And annual and abundant seasonal events that the whole family can enjoy are offered all year-round.
Members of the Club at Barefoot Beach enjoy round-robin tennis, book clubs and bridge clubs. This is also an ideal location to have a wedding, banquet or any special occasion.
